Acclimation Guide

A calm, slow acclimation gives your new coral the best start. After a day in transit, the goal is to ease it back to stable conditions — no shocks, no rush. Plan for about 30 minutes.

Before they arrive

  • Have a quarantine spot ready with low flow and low-to-moderate light.
  • Dim your lights for the first day — bright light on a freshly shipped coral adds stress.

Step by step

  1. Temperature — Float the sealed bag in your tank for 15 minutes to match temperature. Don't open it yet.
  2. Dip (recommended) — Give the coral a coral dip to remove pests and hitchhikers, following the product's directions. Skip the dip and any uninvited guests come with it — straight into your tank.
  3. Place gently — Set it in a low-flow, lower-light spot. Move it up and into brighter light gradually over 1–2 weeks.

First week

  • Some closing up, color loss, or sliminess is normal. Keep parameters stable and be patient.
  • Don't overfeed or fuss — stability is what they need.
